The fight and undercard action airs on DAZN and ESPN+ PPV. Fury is a former unified heavyweight and the current WBC heavyweight champion. Suspensions and mental health issues forced him out of boxing for a few years, but since returning, he has become one of the faces of the heavyweight division. The 35-year-old Fury retired briefly in 2022 but couldn't miss an opportunity at history.
Usyk looks to become the third active male fighter to be undisputed in two divisions , as he previously held gold at cruiserweight. The Ukrainian is 5-0 in the heavyweight division, with two wins against Anthony Joshua and one against Derek Chisora, who Fury is 3-0 against. The fight was supposed to be in December 2023 and February 2024. Fury beat Francis Ngannou in October but got knocked down by the MMA fighter and boxing novice , forcing the fight to get delayed to February. The fight got moved again once Fury suffered a cut while training . The second delay was an inconvenience to boxing fans and Usyk.
